Caltagirone Moorheads are one of the most famous and deep-rooted traditions of the Sicilian city of Caltagirone, located in the province of Catania. They are handcrafted ceramic decorations that are used to adorn the facades of houses
Over the years, the heads have evolved, enriched by a variety of decorations. Prominent among the various evolutions are heads embellished with mother-of-pearl, gold, and lustres. This combination of materials has added a touch of luxury and sophistication to the works, thus creating a unique beauty over time.
